Was this a dumb move?

I really like this girl and there may be a chance she kind of likes me. She's Chinese so I just sent her a message on Facebook asking "what does this mean wo i ni" (which means I love you in Chinese. Do u think she gets the hint? If not or if she's uncomfortable what do I do to cover myself?
